Key Responsibilities

• Operate side-load and/or rear-load waste collection trucks safely and efficiently on assigned residential curbside routes.
• Collect solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables, compacting materials into the truck using prescribed hydraulic controls.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections, reporting any vehicle condition updates or mechanical needs promptly.
• Manage and coordinate with assigned Helper(s) to ensure route safety and efficiency.
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items, leaving them out of the collection hopper per company policy.
• Safely maneuver trucks in residential areas, narrow streets, and tight spaces using proper backing procedures.
• Interact courteously and professionally with homeowners and the general public on your route.
• Maintain clean cab interiors/exteriors and comply strictly with all company, federal, state, and local safety rules.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Entry-Level Drivers Welcome: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
• Ability to demonstrate safe truck operation and equipment handling.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria according to company standards.
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs repetitively, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions up to 100% of the shift.
