Operator in Training, Vacuum Truck Services
As an Operator in Training, you will work alongside experienced Vacuum Truck Operators and be involved in providing services such as (but not limited to): hydro excavating, confined space entry, spill cleanup, line flushing, power washing, water hauling, and loading/hauling of various fluids and materials. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a safety-first, team-oriented environment while receiving mentorship and the opportunity to grow into a licensed operator role.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Vacuum Truck Services team with daily tasks and learn operation procedures
Assist with physically demanding fieldwork in various industrial settings
Maintain clear and accurate records to accompany work performed
Professionally represent GFL and provide exceptional service to clients
Participate in safety training and programs, including daily safety meetings, risk assessments, and job hazard assessments
Complete equipment checks and learn pre-trip inspection procedures
Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time
Requirements:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
Willingness to obtain a Class 3A or 1A license through GFL’s training program upon successful probation
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work in all weather conditions
Interest in pursuing a long-term career in vacuum truck operations or the industrial services field
Prior industrial or labour experience is an asset, but not required
