The Operations Supervisor oversees the daily business operations of the division, including customer service, safety, operational efficiency, and personnel management. This role is critical in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while leading by example and supporting the growth and development of Team Green employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule daily loads, routes, and drivers to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction
Populate detailed daily driver schedules to guide employees on assigned tasks
Conduct daily yard inspections and ensure site safety compliance
Monitor driver ELDs (Electronic Logging Devices) to ensure DOT and safety compliance
Ensure all driver paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to billing in a timely manner
Track and monitor waste processed daily in accordance with company policies
Monitor inbound and outbound waste inventory levels
Identify and recommend cost-effective methods for waste processing
Ensure appropriate tools and equipment are available for processing tasks
Facilitate or schedule driver training and equipment training
Provide practical training for new processes and operational changes
Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture
Ensure adherence to GFL’s Safety Policies and procedures
Identify, evaluate, and address workplace hazards and unsafe practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with RCRA and hazardous materials (Hazmat); certification required or obtainable upon hire
Industrial and/or DOT transportation experience
Working knowledge of plant operations and requirements
Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams
Standard First Aid / CPR+ certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions independently
Proficient in basic computer programs
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a safety-sensitive environment
