Operations Supervisor II
- Primary Location:
Greenville, North Carolina - Additional Location(s):

The Mission
As an Operations Supervisor II, you are the heartbeat of our daily branch operations. You aren’t stuck in a cubicle all day. Instead, you'll be on the move—coaching your team, optimizing routes, ensuring world-class safety, and keeping our operations running like a finely-tuned machine. You will step up to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and boots-on-the-ground execution.
Your Daily Adventure
Lead the Hype: Conduct energetic morning kick-off meetings (toolbox talks) to get the team pumped, focused, and aligned on safety before they hit the road.
Master of Logistics: Oversee daily routing and dispatch operations. You'll play real-life Tetris with schedules and routes to maximize efficiency and keep our customers smiling.
Safety First, Always: Champion our "Safety for Life" culture. Conduct regular safety audits, field observations, and incident investigations. You make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.
Coach & Mentor: Train, evaluate, and mentor your team of drivers and helpers. You’ll help them grow, troubleshoot field issues, and maintain high morale.
Customer Heroics: Jump in to resolve customer inquiries or service issues with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
Data-Driven Decisions: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track labor hours, and manage operational costs to keep the branch hitting its targets.
Your Superpowers
The Experience: You have 3+ years of supervisory experience in logistics, transportation, waste management, or route-based operations.
The License (Asset): A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a huge plus, or the willingness to obtain one so you can truly understand your team's day-to-day.
Safety Mindset: Deep knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and safe driving practices.
Cool Under Pressure: You can think on your feet when plans change (because traffic, weather, and life happen).
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with fleet management software, GPS tracking, and the Microsoft Office suite.
People Person: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to motivate a diverse, hardworking team.
The Perks of Being Green
Competitive Compensation: Great base salary plus performance-based incentives.
Growth Potential: GFL is growing fast. We love to promote from within and will invest in your career development.
Robust Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, plus a retirement savings match.
Paid Time Off: Generous PTO and paid holidays to keep you refreshed.
The Vibe: A supportive, down-to-earth culture where your hard work is noticed and celebrated.
