GFL Environmental is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Office Administrator to join our dynamic team in Abbotsford, BC!

The Opportunity:

GFL Environmental is looking for an Office Administrator to support the daily administrative and operational functions of the office and support our operations team. This dual-role position is key to ensuring both a smooth-running office environment and the effective coordination of service delivery. You’ll be responsible for various administrative tasks that support interdepartmental activities and maintaining efficient communication with internal teams and external partners.

You will also oversee administrative-related tasks that support operations—helping ensure we meet customer needs and maintain compliance with internal and external service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Administration:

  • Manage overall front office activities, including, mail distribution, shipping/receiving, and supply ordering

  • Maintain an organized filing system (digital and paper-based)

  • Filing Route sheets, Disposal Slips, Internal Forms, etc.

  • Closing route sheets, entering statistics

  • Work on various reports as assigned on a weekly basis; information tracking for various divisions

  • Scheduling of Large Item Pick Up’s in various software applications, assist with day changes, item changed, and cancellations of services booked as well as Missed Calls / Complaints

  • Other duties as assigned

Operations Support:

  • Support payroll entries, and basic financial administrative tasks for the Operations team

  • Maintain, track, and order PPE and uniforms for drivers

  • Track driver tablet distribution and facilitate replacements and repairs as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Business Administration, Logistics, or Environmental Services preferred

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); knowledge of dispatch or routing software is an asset

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with professionalism

  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations is an asset
