The Role
We are looking for a talented Data Validation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures to enhance the accuracy, quality, and integrity of US National Accounts data. You will work closely with National Accounts users, database developers, and the Operations Support team to resolve data quality issues, perform data audits, identify system enhancements, and prepare reports to inform key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality & Remediation: Gather data from multiple sources to identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and overlaps. Spot data integrity issues and exceptions, and execute necessary corrections to remediate them.
Auditing & Validation: Audit data setup performed by the Implementation team and other US National Accounts users in accordance with established review and validation procedures.
Root Cause Analysis: Quickly identify unexpected changes made to account data, perform root cause analyses to inform management, and propose robust remediation plans.
Process Documentation & Training: Document, maintain, and communicate standardized procedures for data entry and validation. Provide feedback to users to reduce errors and collaborate with Operations Support to craft training materials.
Reporting & Collaboration: Report findings to management to resolve data issues and prioritize information system needs. Partner with end users and database developers to optimize data collection, storage, and validation processes.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in data validation, auditing, and/or data quality improvement.
Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or GED; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field is desired.
Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills with significant experience using Excel. Working knowledge of data analysis techniques and best practices for maintaining data quality.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, an affinity for working with data, and sharp attention to detail.
Bonus Points: Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) to create database queries. Experience maintaining or consolidating multiple databases across a large enterprise platform. Knowledge of the waste/environmental services industry, or working knowledge of Trux and/or Tower applications.
