A Day in the Life* of a Mechanic:
Maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated trucks as well as associated heavy duty equipment
Using various power tools, hand instruments and cutting-edge equipment
Completing daily reports, work orders and ordering necessary parts
Planning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procure parts
Assisting in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule
What’s Required:
Mechanics must have:
Completion of a recognized Heavy Duty Mechanic apprenticeship program and current certification as a Red Seal or B.C. Journeyperson.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license; ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles safely.
Proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and equipment, with strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
