General Manager II
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager II, you will have full ownership of a multi-line business unit, including hauling, disposal, recycling, maintenance, sales, and customer experience.
Full P&L ownership, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost discipline
Lead and develop management teams across operations, maintenance, sales, and admin
Champion GFL’s “Safety First” culture, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and internal standards
Optimize fleet and operations, including routing efficiency, labor productivity, asset utilization, and uptime
Partner with Sales leadership to grow market share, retain key customers, and support municipal contracts
Drive operational excellence using KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as the local face of GFL, building relationships with municipalities, regulators, customers, and community partners
Build a strong leadership pipeline, coaching managers and preparing future leaders within GFL
Qualifications & Experience
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in waste management, environmental services, transportation, or logistics
Proven success leading large, frontline and management teams
Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L responsibility
Deep understanding of fleet maintenance, routing, safety, and regulatory compliance
Experience operating within a large, decentralized organization preferred
Strong communicator with the ability to lead change and drive accountability
