Join GFL Environmental and help keep our facilities operating safely, efficiently, and professionally. We’re seeking a well-rounded, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and keeping buildings and property in top condition.
What You Will Do:
You will be responsible for the overall upkeep of company facilities and addressing maintenance issues promptly and professionally to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including furnaces and air-conditioning systems (EPA certification not required)
- Service and repair water heaters, solar collection tanks, and appliances
- Perform general plumbing repairs, including fixtures, disposals, drains, and piping
- Complete basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs (lighting, outlets, switches, minor diagnostics)
- Conduct general carpentry, painting, and building repairs (doors, drywall, trim, hardware, etc.)
- Perform groundskeeping and exterior facility maintenance as needed
- Provide maintenance support for additional facility systems and equipment as required
- Perform skilled work in one or more trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, locksmith, etc.) requiring solid working knowledge and troubleshooting ability
- Respond promptly to service requests while providing excellent internal customer service
- Accurately document all work performed in accordance with company policy
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and unexpected repairs
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Follow all company policies and comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of facilities, building maintenance, or multi-trade experience preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work at heights
