Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of daily schedules and work closely with Operations & GFL internal Shops to meet maintenance needs

  • Support scheduling 3rd party work o our assets, while taking into consideration Operational schedules and timelines

  • Acts as a liaison coordinating between our various operations, and maintenance staff as required

  • Identifies optimization opportunities for the effective use of resources

  • Acts as the point of contact for customer and other inquiries that come to the dispatch office 

  • Creates and supports the distribution of the daily operational schedule to operations management 

  • Coordinate equipment repairs with the mechanics and third party repair companies. This includes freeing up equipment from operations for both preventative and reparative maintenance 

  • Support and/or open and process work orders. This includes month end closure and reconciliation of open work orders 

  • Creates and maintains a zero harm environment by ensuring all environmental, health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times

  • Other tasks as directed by management

Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to decipher google maps, and find information online

  • Exceptional organization skills to ensure adherence to protocols, best practices for paper work and operational flow of information

  • Must be flexible and can easily adapt to changing priorities with an ability to multi-task

  • Experience working with a unionized workforce and a collective bargaining agreement considered an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal directly with clients, internal personnel, management, other divisions, etc

  • Experience setting up, overseeing and managing job sites or projects is an asset 

  • Knowledge of dispatching, fleet management, and/or heavy duty equipment is an asset

Qualifications:

  • High school education, or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience in an industrial environment is preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
