Field Supervisor, Industrial Services
GFL Environmental is looking for a full-time Industrial Services Supervisor to help support our liquids operations in Timmins, ON. The Supervisor will handle all aspects of day to day operations, by utilizing effective communication skills and time management to prioritize and optimize daily production. They will be required to lead and manage a crew of varying competencies and skills sets. Adhering to company policies and procedures, while maintaining all documentation as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-shift tailgates
- Abide by rules and requirements while on customers or GFL property
- Complete all necessary paperwork ex: Shift logs, Site Service Reports, Job tasks: Observations, Site Audits, etc.
- Manage and maintain various data management systems.
- Daily Equipment checks.
- Complete supervisor inspections as required (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Maintain P.P.E inventory
- Help provide coaching and training to other workers.
- Ensure coordination with other supervisors and management to clarify job demands and requirements.
- Help mitigate employee complaints and concerns.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Oversite of employees to always ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and work in a safe environment.
- Ensure safety compliance with all safety & regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development of SOP's, job procedures and investigations as required.
- Ensure all sign-off sheets and memos are reviewed with assigned employees.
- Shift work is a requirement, day shift/night shift (12-hour shifts).
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Experience and strong knowledge of tractor trailers, vacuum trucks, tankers and roll off trucks
- Demonstrates a safe operating record
- Demonstrates competence handling all aspects of day-to-day operations
- Demonstrates effective communication skills to delegate daily assigned duties
- Two (2) years minimum in the industrial service industry with progressiveresponsibilities is considered a strong asset.
