Essential Functions

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Independently troubleshoot and repair complex Diesel and CNG engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.

  • Technical Leadership: Act as the primary mentor for Level B and C mechanics, providing guidance on complex repairs and shop best practices.

  • Fleet Integrity: Lead DOT and brake inspections to ensure every vehicle meets stringent safety and emissions standards.

  • Operational Strategy: Prioritize work orders to maximize shop efficiency and oversee mechanical write-ups to coordinate seamless repair schedules.

  • Administrative Excellence: Complete digital work orders, order parts with precision, and maintain meticulous maintenance records daily.

  • Safety Stewardship: Champion a "Safety First" culture, ensuring 100% compliance with OSHA, DOT, and GFL safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of heavy-duty Diesel and CNG maintenance experience.

  • Certifications:

    • Required: Brake Safety Certification and 609 A/C System Certification.

    • Preferred: ASE Certifications (T-Series).

  • Licensing: Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred, or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.

  • Technical Skills: Expert ability to interpret intricate electrical and diagnostic schematics; high proficiency with diagnostic software and general computer literacy.

  • Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods while performing repairs.

  • Sustained concentrated mental and visual attention for high-stakes diagnostics.

  • Ability to reach above shoulders, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Comfortable operating heavy trucks and equipment in a dynamic shop environment.
