Key Responsibilities:
Elite Equipment Command: Expertly operate roll-off trucks and ancillary equipment to collect and transport waste with precision.
Asset Stewardship: Own your truck. Perform rigorous daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections. We rely on you to identify and communicate any mechanical needs to the shop team immediately to keep your rig in peak condition.
Strategic Routing: Work closely with your supervisor to sharpen route efficiencies. You aren't just following a map; you’re looking for ways to improve how we serve our customers.
Safety Leadership: Navigate tight sites and high-traffic areas with a "Zero-Accident" mindset. Identify and report site hazards before performing a task to ensure the safety of yourself and the public.
Brand Ambassador: Maintain a professional appearance and a "customer-first" demeanor. As a GFL driver, you are the primary point of contact for our clients on the road.
Detailed Documentation: Maintain accurate digital and paper records of services performed, route sheets, and daily truck reports.
Clean Cab Culture: Take pride in your workspace by maintaining a clean interior and exterior of your vehicle.
Requirements:
License: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.
Safety Record: Must meet all company standards for safety-sensitive functions and demonstrate total control of the vehicle and equipment during a road test.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate various heavy-duty vehicles and understand hydraulic equipment systems.
Problem Solvers: Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to solve field problems and navigate "on-the-fly" challenges.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting inspections, hazards, and daily paperwork.
Mathematical Basics: Ability to perform basic calculations related to load weights and route timing.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Field Endurance: Ability to work outdoors 100% of the time, regardless of weather (heat, rain, or cold).
Physical Agility: Must be able to climb, balance, kneel, and stoop to secure containers. Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
High-Focus Driving: Sitting is required up to 75% of the time. You must maintain intense focus in loud, high-traffic, and tight-clearance environments.
Commitment: Must be available for overtime to ensure our customers are serviced on schedule.
