CDL A PIt Operator

The tractor-trailer driver will safely and efficiently drive a tractor and lead trailer to transport non-hazardous waste to multiple landfills in a timely and professional manner. Successful candidates will have the ability to learn heavy equipment operations such as excavators and loaders.

Job Description:

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) according to DOT regulations

• Utilize assigned route while obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations

• Maneuver CMV into loading and unloading areas

• Assist with loading and unloading of products, using specialized equipment when warranted, and returns all equipment to designated area

• Maintain signed invoices, bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to dispatch when work orders are complete

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and reports maintenance malfunctions to the fleet manager and dispatch

• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

• Overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays

• Rotating On-Call

• Most CDL drivers have daily routes and are home nightly

• Located in Byron Center, MI

• Full-time position

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A and tanker endorsement

• Clean driving record

• Must pass background checks and pre-employment drug screen, as required by law

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers

• Ability to handle prolonged periods of sitting in a cab

• Ability to remain focused in busy environments

• Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
