Billing Coordinator
Kalamazoo, Michigan
This position is essential to maintaining financial accuracy and operational efficiency by ensuring that all customer services are billed accurately and on time. As a Billing Coordinator, you will serve as a vital liaison between our accounting systems, branch locations, collections, and data entry teams. You will be responsible for managing full billing cycles, tracking key reporting metrics, and producing actionable queries and managerial reports.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Invoicing: Oversee the end-to-end invoicing process, including the thorough review of work orders and time sheets, and accurate payroll data entry.
Order Management: Generate and maintain work orders and purchase orders to ensure precise tracking of services and costs.
Administrative Support: Provide dedicated support to supervisors by assisting with essential clerical and administrative tasks.
Documentation & Compliance: Facilitate the preparation and printing of critical waste disposal documentation, including creating and managing manifests and bills of lading to ensure accurate and compliant records.
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in an accounting, billing, or collections role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills, with a strong preference for experience using Google Workspace.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse teams and clients.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
Quality & Reporting: Proven skills in quality assurance and statistical/metric reporting to ensure financial accuracy.
Detail & Deadline Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and an action-oriented approach to meeting tight deadlines.
Customer Service: Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills.
Independence: Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
