A “Day in the Life" of a Human Resources Generalist:

  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and labor relations while offering confidential support to leaders managing sensitive employee issues.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives by analyzing data trends, improving processes, and reducing turnover.

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, collaborating with managers to address potential issues proactively.

  • Support organizational change initiatives and advise managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.

  • Investigate employee concerns, ensure thorough follow-through, and provide benefits guidance, HRIS support, reporting, and auditing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field; CPHR designation or actively working towards it.

  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, with demonstrated experience in Employee Relations and labor relations issues.

  • Able to speak English and French fluently.

  • Knowledge of current Labour Laws, Human Rights, and Employment Standards.

  • Strong attention to detail, a proven track record of completing project tasks, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines, with a customer-focused and professional attitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to support organizational change by building and leveraging professional working relationships, with some travel required (10–15%).
