AZ HAZMAT Driver
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver and/or pick up goods in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal guidance
• Ensure correct processing of documents, including manifests
• Perform pre/post trip inspections
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation of vehicle, carriage of goods, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration
• Maintain a clean driving record and drive safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times
• Assist in plant when not driving, including shunting, loading and unloading tankers
• Provide customer focused services in all activities and maintain good working relationship
• Respond to emergencies and help with the spills clean-up
• Actively participate in safety meetings, identify and report all incidents and participate in investigations as necessary
• Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area and clean truck
• Overtime, as required
• Other duties as requested by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
• Start times vary between 5am-7am and end times between 3pm-5pm
• Must possess a valid AZ license
• 5 years of AZ or 10 years of DZ commercial driving experience
• Box truck experience is required.
• Must have a clean abstract
• Must have tanker/liquid transport experience
• Knowledge of TDG, WHMIS, and DOT Regulations
• Demonstrated physical ability to work, including but not limited to, length sitting, climbing, lifting and pulling.
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Must be customer service oriented
• Experience with border crossing an asset
• Experience with transport of manifested materials an asset
