Summary:
To process product returns under the GFL Wentworth pharmaceutical returns business unit. Be knowledgeable in the Health Canada regulations pertaining to Cannabis, Precursors, and Controlled Drugs and Substance. Maintain compliance regarding all operational matters at the Wentworth
facility (site-specific SOPs, Workhub/Health and Safety/Compliance training). Please note this is an afternoon shift working: M-F 3pm-11:30pm. Covered under the Teamsters Union.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling of Controlled Drugs and Substance, Precursors, and Cannabis for destruction in a manner that complies with Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks, and Health Canada regulation.
- Guide other personnel in the facility to ensure they are aware of the proper handling of controlled products.
- Track all controlled inventory with precision and ensure full investigation in cases of inventory discrepancy.
- Maintain regular contact with Wentworth facility employees, Health Canada regulatory bodies, and quality personnel from GFL clients in order to ensure GFL is effectively servicing the client and is in full accordance and compliance with the regulations.
- Responsible for completion of applicable documentation (e.g., Monthly Inventory Reports, Sort Box Audits, Destruction Approval Applications, etc.) for Health Canada regulatory bodies.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:
- Diploma, certificate or credential awarded by a post-secondary educational institution in Canada in a related field (e.g., pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacology, chemistry, biology, pharmacy technician, laboratory technician, pharmaceutical regulatory affairs or supplychain management or security), or Diploma, certificate or credential that is awarded by a foreign educational institution in a related field (e.g., pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacology, chemistry, biology, pharmacy technician, laboratory technician, pharmaceutical regulatory affairs or supply chain management or security) with an acceptable equivalency assessment
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable provincial and federal environmental legislation (e.g., Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Narcotic Control Regulations, etc.).
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Strong computer (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent health and safety track record in programs and processes.
- Ability to work independently and capable of forming strong working relationships/partnerships with Site Leadership teams, clients and hourly work force.
- Driving not mandatory but preferred(min. G License)
